An Unexpected Spanner.....

My heart always skips a beat when I'm at work and my mobile phone rings with the number for day care coming up on the screen. I got a call yesterday at 2.50pm, "Sam, Delilah has had a fall, she's holding her arm strangely", "I'll be there ASAP".

Considering what I do for a living I don't panic over falls, but I know my daughter, and if she isn't letting someone look at her "Ouchie" it means that it's serious. One look at it told me that she had a supra condylar fracture (a broken elbow), our GP agreed, so on to xrays (it was hard being the mummy and not doing it myself!), then Noarlunga ED, and then finally when it was decided that she would need it reduced (put back into place) to Flinders. Not Good. We arrived back home at about 12.30am.

Needless to say the last 30hrs have been a whirlwind of emotion, Delilah is exhausted and sore and Luke and I are utterly shattered, and tomorrow is the Lollipop Markets I still have a pile of ironing and tagging to get through, my gorgeous husband is sitting at my feet making price signs for me..... and thankfully for now my baby is resting comfortably, asleep in her bed. A spanner has certainly been thrown in the works..... but if this is the spanner that I have to deal with, I'll take it.
