Lollipop and Since.
The last week has absolutely whirled by and it's already just over a week since the Lollipop Markets but already it feels like months ago.
I dragged myself out of bed that morning after very little sleep, but was rewarded with quite a sucessful day, though I do appologise to anyone who came to visit me for my extreme ditziness, I was a little over tired LOL! Here are some pics of the day.
The set up.
Brooches.
Hats.
It's always so amazing to see so much hand made all in the one place, it makes me feel so inspired.
In the days since I have finally taken the plunge and opened my own Madeit store, but mostly the week was dedicated to Delilah and making her comfortable which proved to be quite difficult. We had alot of trouble managing her pain, however the introduction of a hot pink full cast aided in her recovery:
It will be her constant accessory for the next five weeks.... and I am now off to make her a long glove to go over it so she can play in the sand pit at daycare with out getting sand in it!

An Unexpected Spanner.....
My heart always skips a beat when I'm at work and my mobile phone rings with the number for day care coming up on the screen. I got a call yesterday at 2.50pm, "Sam, Delilah has had a fall, she's holding her arm strangely", "I'll be there ASAP".
Considering what I do for a living I don't panic over falls, but I know my daughter, and if she isn't letting someone look at her "Ouchie" it means that it's serious. One look at it told me that she had a supra condylar fracture (a broken elbow), our GP agreed, so on to xrays (it was hard being the mummy and not doing it myself!), then Noarlunga ED, and then finally when it was decided that she would need it reduced (put back into place) to Flinders. Not Good. We arrived back home at about 12.30am.
Needless to say the last 30hrs have been a whirlwind of emotion, Delilah is exhausted and sore and Luke and I are utterly shattered, and tomorrow is the Lollipop Markets I still have a pile of ironing and tagging to get through, my gorgeous husband is sitting at my feet making price signs for me..... and thankfully for now my baby is resting comfortably, asleep in her bed. A spanner has certainly been thrown in the works..... but if this is the spanner that I have to deal with, I'll take it.

What To Do With Excessive Amounts of Easter Eggs....
Well..... I may still be yet to do my blog post about Easter (hopefully I get to it before christmas comes around LOL!), but two weeks down the track I have had enough of the easter egg temptation, we have had crazy amounts of them in this house this year.... and I keep eating them! So, as it was mother's day today and we were having Luke's Mum around yesterday afternoon I thought it was time to do something with these easter eggs.... time to make chocolate chip cookies!!!
So this basically works with any chocolate chip cookie recipe you have, and the idea is to smash up all your eggs so they become chocolate chips. The recipe I use is as follows:
Cream 125g of softened butter with1 cup of brown sugar (I didn't have any brown yesterday so I used caster sugar...... still good, actually it added a lovely crispness to them). Add in 1 beaten egg, 1 tablespoon of milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla and combine. Then fold in 1.5 cups of sifted plain flour and 1 teaspoon of baking powder until a soft dough forms and then add in the "chocolate chips". Place spoonfulls at least 3cm apart on baking trays lined with baking paper and pop in the oven for 15 mins at 170 degrees celcius.
Tasty cookies.... sadly there are never as many as there should be because someone eats the yummy cookie dough.
The only bad thing really is that now, rather than having easter eggs to eat, you have cookies to eat LOL! But I love sharing mine with friends.
Before I go I just wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to any lovely mummies who may be reading this. Being a mum is the best thing that ever happened to me, I love every moment (even when I'm being yelled at repeatedly for no particular reason!). xxx
